Vero Beach Varsity Indians couldn't keep up with Eau Gallie and fell 18-5 on Tuesday.
Eau Gallie got on the board in the top of the second inning after an error scored two runs, Gabby Barrera doubled, scoring one run, and Shyla Eppert grounded out, scoring two runs.
Eau Gallie scored nine runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Ainsley Odell doubled, scoring two runs, Izzy Gambill singled, scoring two runs, Barrera drew a walk, scoring one run, Evie Martin singled, scoring one run, #16 drew a walk, scoring one run, and a passed ball scored one run.
Jordan Stout earned the win for Eau Gallie. The starter surrendered one hit and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Gabbie Espich took the loss for Vero Beach Varsity Indians. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering nine runs (three earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking eight.
Trinity Bishop led Vero Beach Varsity Indians with two hits in three at bats. Miley Torres and Kylie Williams each drove in one run for Vero Beach Varsity Indians.
Odell provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Eau Gallie with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-5 on the day. Barrera, Odell, and Martin each collected two hits for Eau Gallie. Spike Peehart paced Eau Gallie with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 13 walks for the game.
