Redlands, CA — The boys new they were in for a battle from the first match. After round 1 Yucaipa took a 4-2 lead and then in round 2 CV tied it up 6-6. In the last round Seth and Leroy made quick work to finish 3-0 on the day. Quinn subbed in for Chase (who won a very long 1st round match singles) and was able to get very valuable games for the team along with Josh. Marley and Tayven lost a tough 2nd round match but backed it up with a convincing 3rd round and finished 2-1 on the day. Luke and Galarza (2-1) battled in the 3rd match but came up short. However the games they won helped give Yucaipa the lead in games. The match came down to AJ who had to win his match. He was down 4-5 and very nervous with about 50+ people watching. He turned it around and took a 6-5 lead then it came down to duece plus one and he tricked his opponent on the serve who hit a week return followed by a deep shot from. AJ and CV hit it in the net for the win! Great job boys as a team and now can guarantee the team a playoff spot by beating Beaumont next week.
