Rancho Santa Fe, CA — On Tuesday, March 25, the Lancer Varsity boys golf squad hit the road and traveled south to Rancho Santa Fe golf club to take on the defending State Champs, Torrey Pines HS. Last season, the Lancers and the Falcons split the League series 1-1, with the Lancers earning co-champions of the league with Torrey. The final score ended up in favor of the host Falcons, 185-195. As has been the form for most of this season, the top three of Kenyon Kahler (34), Kaden Chang (36) and Thomas Browning (39) leading the way. But the Varsity Lancers are still looking for the best combination to fill out the final three spots. Coach Wardrup said "The top three are doing exactly what we need them to do. We are looking for more consistency from the rest of the Varsity squad to help minimize mistakes and lower our team scores. Ideally, we don't want to count anything over 39. We do that, we can play with anyone." The next few weeks will be used to start honing in on the League and CIF teams. The Lancers and the Falcons will get together again on the La Costa Resort South course on Thursday afternoon.
