Ontario, CA — Alta Loma Varsity Braves had trouble keeping up with Colony in a 12-0 loss on Wednesday. Colony were the first to get on the board in the first when Elijah Ybanez doubled, scoring two runs. Colony scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. Ricardo Zazueta doubled, scoring one run, Jeremy Guadian drew a walk, scoring one run, Ybanez singled, scoring one run, Wyatt Snook induced Aidan Corse to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored, and an error scored one run. Colony added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Carlos Barba doubled to left field, and Guadian grounded out, each scoring one run. Michael Huicochea earned the win for Colony. The pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out 10 and walking one. Logan Sein took the loss for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The starter went one inning, allowing seven runs (five earned) on three hits, striking out one and walking three. Silas Granados, Vincent Cantu, and Gabriel Perez each collected one hit for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. Alta Loma Varsity Braves turned one double play in the game. Ybanez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Colony with three runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Barba and Ybanez each collected two hits for Colony. Colony had a strong eye at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. James Cook and Guadian led the team with two walks each. Colony turned one double play in the game.
