Alta Loma, CA — Alta Loma Varsity Braves couldn't keep up with West Linn and fell 13-3 on Monday. West Linn got on the board in the top of the first inning after Maverick Harper singled, scoring two runs, and C Doblic was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Jacob Ynajasa grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Alta Loma Varsity Braves tie the game at three in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, West Linn broke up the tie when R Whitley scored after tagging up. Then a double by Carson Boyer followed to extend the lead to 7-3. West Linn scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Ryan Hemsley singled, scoring one run, Thalt singled, scoring two runs, Doblic singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Danny Wideman drew a walk, scoring one run. C Klouda earned the win for West Linn. The hurler gave up two hits and three runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking four. Grant MacCharles took the loss for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The righty went three innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out three and walking one. Lukas Spence, Matthew Torres, Vincent Cantu, and Gabriel Perez each collected one hit for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. Ynajasa and MacCharles were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. West Linn amassed nine hits in the game. Harper provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led West Linn with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Harper, Wideman, Boyer, Hemsley, Thalt, E Eagle, Doblic, S Baker, and Whitley each collected one hit for West Linn. Hemsley led West Linn with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game. Hemsley stole two bases. West Linn ran wild on the base paths, collecting five stolen bases for the game.
