Alta Loma, CA — Both teams were strong on the bump on Friday, but Alta Loma Varsity Braves defeated Colony 3-2. Nathaniel Pimentel started the game for Alta Loma Varsity Braves and recorded 12 outs.
Colony opened the scoring in the first after Aidan Corse grounded out, scoring one run.
Lukas Spence doubled to center field, which helped Alta Loma Varsity Braves tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.
Alta Loma Varsity Braves took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. Spence drew a walk, scoring one run, to give Alta Loma Varsity Braves the advantage, 3-1.
Pimentel earned the win for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The pitcher surrendered one hit and one run over four innings, striking out one and walking two. Aidan Castro took the loss for Colony. The reliever went one inning, allowing two runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking none. Steven Gonzales opened the game for Colony. The starter gave up two hits and one run over four innings, striking out five and walking two. Jake Zandbergen appeared in relief for Alta Loma Varsity Braves.
Spence went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Cody Primanto went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Alta Loma Varsity Braves in hits.
Carlos Barba went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Castro, Barba, and Elijah Ybanez each collected one hit for Colony.
