San Marino, CA — South Pasadena Varsity Tigers easily dispatched San Marino Varsity Titans on Wednesday, 10-2.
South Pasadena Varsity Tigers got on the board in the first inning after Brooke Zeisler doubled, scoring two runs.
Alexandra Hughes doubled to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped San Marino Varsity Titans tie the game at two in the bottom of the third.
In the top of the fourth inning, South Pasadena Varsity Tigers went back into the lead after Gemma Converse doubled to center field, Jolene Wu singled down the right field line, and Natalie Kan walked, each scoring one run.
South Pasadena Varsity Tigers scored five runs on two hits in the top of the seventh inning. Kylie Lei induced Emma Becerra to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Andrea Becerra doubled, scoring three runs, and Lei induced Cassidy Lee to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
Lucia Atencio earned the win for South Pasadena Varsity Tigers. The hurler surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking four. Vivienne Barcarse led things off in the circle for San Marino Varsity Titans. The starter allowed three hits and five runs (four earned) over three and one-third innings, striking out two and walking four. Kan threw two innings of zero-run ball for South Pasadena Varsity Tigers in relief. The southpaw surrendered one hit, striking out none and walking one.
Number nine hitter, Wu, showed the depth of South Pasadena Varsity Tigers's lineup, by leading them with two hits in four at bats. Becerra led South Pasadena Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in.
