Show Low Varsity Cougars were victorious against Winslow 7-3 on Tuesday.
Show Low Varsity Cougars were the first to get on the board in the first when a passed ball scored one run.
Show Low Varsity Cougars added one run in the third after Ari Rivera grounded out.
Riley Heuett earned the win for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking two. Kyah Wilcox took the loss for Winslow. The starting pitcher went seven innings, allowing seven runs (one earned) on nine hits, striking out five and walking four. Addisyn Clark collected the save.
Clark went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Show Low Varsity Cougars in hits. Gracie Umphress, Heuett, Aspyn Clark, and Rivera each drove in one run for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Clark stole three bases. Show Low Varsity Cougars ran wild on the base paths, amassing five stolen bases for the game. Show Low Varsity Cougars were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Umphress had the most chances in the field with seven.
Angela Salazar drove the middle of the lineup, leading Winslow with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Ara Leonard led Winslow with two hits in three at bats.
