Saint Johns, AZ — By GameChanger Media Show Low Varsity Cougars scored five runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat St. Johns 9-3 on Thursday. Addisyn Clark doubled, scoring two runs, Gracie Umphress singled, scoring two runs, and Rylee Wyatt singled, scoring one run. St. Johns got on the board in the bottom of the third inning after B Neilson homered to center field, and K Pulsipher grounded out, each scoring one run. Show Low Varsity Cougars captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the fourth when Clark hit a solo home run to left field, Riley Heuett singled, scoring one run, and Wyatt tripled, scoring two runs. Heuett earned the win for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. K Tsinajinnie took the loss for St. Johns. The starter went four innings, allowing four runs on eight hits, striking out five and walking none. Show Low Varsity Cougars amassed 13 hits in the game. Wyatt and Heuett each collected three hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Wyatt and Clark each drove in three runs for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Tatum Townsend collected two hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars in four at bats. Show Low Varsity Cougars turned two double plays in the game. Neilson and M Tsinajinnie each collected two hits for St. Johns. Neilson led St. Johns with one run batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. St. Johns turned one double play in the game.
