Show Low, AZ — By GameChanger Media Addisyn Clark hit two home runs and drove in four as Show Low Varsity Cougars defeated Snowflake 20-10 on Friday. Clark homered in the second and fourth innings. Show Low Varsity Cougars collected 19 hits and Snowflake had 13 in the high-scoring affair. Snowflake got on the board in the top of the first inning after an error scored one run, Taya Schneider doubled, scoring two runs, and Kashlynn Cantrell singled, scoring one run. Snowflake extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Brynlee Bryant and Graycee Skousen. Show Low Varsity Cougars flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Ari Rivera that drove in three. Show Low Varsity Cougars added one run in the third. Rylee Wyatt singled down the left field line, making the score 8-6. Show Low Varsity Cougars scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Clark on a full count. Snowflake scored two runs in the top of the fifth on a home run to center field by Schneider. Snowflake captured the lead, 10-9, in the top of the sixth after Bryant homered to left field, and Skousen homered to left field, each scoring one run. Show Low Varsity Cougars flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring 11 runs on nine hits to take the lead, 20-10. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two. Clark earned the win for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The pitcher gave up 13 hits and 10 runs (eight earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking two. Cantrell took the loss for Snowflake. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering 18 runs (seven earned) on 17 hits, striking out six and walking two. Show Low Varsity Cougars tallied 19 hits in the game. Wyatt, Show Low Varsity Cougars's number nine hitter, led the team with four hits in four at-bats. Riley Heuett, Avery Ervien, Aspyn Clark, and Rivera each collected multiple hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Snowflake amassed 13 hits in the game. Schneider drove the middle of the lineup, leading Snowflake with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Skousen and Bryant each collected three hits for Snowflake.
