Jon Bracamonte pitches a gem against La Canada on Thursday
La Cañada, CA — The South Pasadena Varsity Tigers won a Rio Hondo League game on Thursday behind excellent pitching and timely hitting.
Jon Bracamonte started on the bump and shut down the Spartans completely, striking out ten and only giving up two hits over six innings. Bracamonte was so dominant, no La Canada player reached second base until the seventh inning. Leo Castillo got the last three outs to seal the victory.
All of the Tigers' scoring came in the second inning, when singles by Raphi Hall and Diego Gurfein set up Ethan Kim's two-run scoring double to left. Raphi had another hit, as did Eli Hall and Leo Castillo.
