South Pasadena, CA — On a rainy Saturday afternoon, the South Pasadena Varsity Tigers kept Paraclete to one run, but couldn't quite put enough offense together to win. Benjamin Regan pitched six innings, struck out five, and gave up one run, and Raphi Hall pitched a 1-2-3 seventh to finish the game. The only hits were singles by Cody Robinson and Raphi Hall, but the Tigers shined on the defensive side. In the top of the fifth inning with a man on second, Paraclete had a line drive to center field. Phil Malatesta fielded the ball cleanly and threw a strike to catcher Eli Hall, who swiftly tagged out the runner trying to score. The Tigers also picked off a runner at second in the fourth.
