Rialto, CA — A walk-off left Alta Loma Varsity Braves on the wrong end of a 7-6 defeat to Eisenhower Varsity Eagles on Thursday. Eisenhower Varsity Eagles were down 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Alex Chocoza homered to left field, scoring two runs. Alta Loma Varsity Braves lost despite out-hitting Eisenhower Varsity Eagles nine to eight. Noah Verkaik and Vincent Cantu each collected two hits for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. Alta Loma Varsity Braves were the first to get on the board in the first when Verkaik hit a solo home run to right field. Eisenhower Varsity Eagles captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after Brian Martinez doubled to center field, and Mariano Nicasio singled to right field, each scoring one run. Alta Loma Varsity Braves jumped back into the lead in the top of the third inning after Cantu singled to left field, and Matthew Torres singled to left field, each scoring two runs. Austin Estrada earned the win for Eisenhower Varsity Eagles. The reliever allowed one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out one and walking two. Logan Sein pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The righty surrendered two hits and three runs (zero earned) while, striking out two and walking two. Wyatt Snook took the loss for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The reliever went two innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking none. Grant MacCharles began the game for Alta Loma Varsity Braves. The starter allowed three hits and two runs over one inning, striking out two and walking one.
