Enterprise Varsity Hornets Defeats Anderson On Back Of Clutch Display From Carly Graham

Anderson, CA — Carly Graham drove in six runs on six hits to lead Enterprise Varsity Lady Hornets past Anderson 24-7 on Wednesday. Graham singled in the fifth scoring two, singled in the seventh scoring two, singled in the second scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.
The Lady Hornets opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Enterprise first got on the board when Sadie Ross singled, scoring one run.
A single by Graham extended the The Hornets lead to 4-1 in the top of the second inning.
The Lady Hornets scored six runs on six hits in the top of the fifth inning. Rachel Hess singled, scoring one run, Graham singled, scoring two runs, Ross singled, scoring two runs, and Emma Souza grounded out, scoring one run.
Anderson scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Isabel Sturges singled, scoring one run, Kolbee Wimmer singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Dominique Crandall drew a walk, scoring one run, and Mylinda Gomez grounded out, scoring one run.
Enterprise scored eight runs on 10 hits in the top of the seventh inning. Shelby Hopper singled, scoring one run, Hess singled, scoring two runs, Graham singled, scoring two runs, Souza singled, scoring one run, Jenna Pumford singled, scoring one run, and Ava Gonzalez grounded out, scoring one run.
Hopper earned the win for The Hornets. The right-handed pitcher gave up seven hits and seven runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking seven. Wimmer took the loss for Anderson. The reliever went six innings, giving up 21 runs (15 earned) on 25 hits, striking out three and walking one.
The Lady Hornets tallied 28 hits in the game. Maya Hubbs, Rachel Hess, Melyiah Del Rosario, Sadie Ross, Shelby Hopper, and Jenna Pumford each collected multiple hits for The Enterprise Hornets. Graham and Lannamae Saelee each stole multiple bases for The Lady Hornets. The Lady Hornets stole six bases in the game. Enterprise turned one double play in the game.
Sturges set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Anderson with two hits in four at bats. Anderson had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Mayci Trompczynski and Wimmer led the team with two walks each. Caydence Dial and Sturges each stole multiple bases for Anderson. Anderson stole seven bases in the game.
Enterprise play at home on Friday against Foothill in their next game.
