Chico, CA — Pleasant Valley defeated Enterprise Varsity Hornets 14-2 on Monday thanks in part to 13 runs in the second inning. Pleasant Valley got on the board in the first inning after Lily Thurman doubled, scoring one run. Pleasant Valley scored 13 runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run, Melea Sanchez drew a walk, scoring one run, Elyse Hayes singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, A Snipes singled, scoring two runs, Sanchez was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored one run, and Hayes doubled, scoring three runs. Shelby Hopper took the loss for Enterprise Hornets. The hurler went one and one-third innings, giving up 13 runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out one and walking five. Carly Graham led The Hornets with one run batted in. Maya Hubbs went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Enterprise Varsity Hornets in hits. Enterprise turned one double play in the game. Hayes led Pleasant Valley with four runs batted in. Hayes went 3-for-3 on the day. Breanna Soulliere led Pleasant Valley with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Snipes stole three bases. Pleasant Valley ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game. Pleasant Valley didn't commit a single error in the field. Alyssa Soulliere had the most chances in the field with seven.
