Redding, CA — Enterprise Varsity Hornets With Tough Game Against Foothill Enterprise Varsity Hornets had trouble keeping up with Foothill in a 12-0 loss on Friday. Foothill opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to three singles. Foothill first got on the board when Elisea Wiegand singled, scoring one run. Foothill scored six runs on five hits in the top of the second inning. Taylor Bates singled, scoring two runs, Alexa F singled, scoring two runs, Savannah W singled, scoring one run, and Rylee Vackulich grounded out, scoring one run. Malia Webb hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the fifth for the Foothill. Vackulich earned the win for Foothill. The starter gave up three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out three and walking none. Shelby Hopper took the loss for Enterprise Lady Hornets. The starter went five innings, allowing 12 runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, striking out two and walking three. Maya Hubbs, Sadie Ross, and Carly Graham each collected one hit for Enterprise. Foothill collected 11 hits in the game. Bates drove the middle of the lineup, leading Foothill with four runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Bates, Hazel Gist, F, and W each collected two hits for Foothill. Foothill were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. F made the most plays with nine.
