Red Bluff, CA — Enterprise Hornets had trouble keeping up with Red Bluff in a 16-2 loss on Tuesday. A single by Mattison Kwarta put Red Bluff on the board in the bottom of the first. Red Bluff scored seven runs on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning. Ashlinn Tucker singled, scoring two runs, Natalie Newport singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, Kwarta tripled, scoring one run, and Piper Tyler grounded out, scoring one run. A single by Ariana Calderon, a home run to right field by Kwarta, and a single by Natalee Ross helped Red Bluff extend their early lead in the third. Newport earned the win for Red Bluff. The hurler allowed four hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking one. Maya Hubbs took the loss for Enterprise Hornets. The left-handed pitcher went four innings, allowing 16 runs (10 earned) on 16 hits, striking out none and walking none. Hubbs and Sadie Ross each collected two hits for Enterprise Hornets. Ross went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Red Bluff collected 16 hits in the game. Kwarta drove the middle of the lineup, leading Red Bluff with six runs batted in. The first baseman went 4-for-4 on the day. Tucker and Taylor Lee each collected multiple hits for Red Bluff. Red Bluff turned two double plays in the game.
