Enterprise Hornets Fall To Pleasant Valley After Surrendering Big First Inning

Redding, CA — Pleasant Valley scored seven runs in the first inning, which helped them defeat Enterprise Hornets 13-0 on Tuesday.
Pleasant Valley got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lily Thurman singled to center field, Kodi Aisthorpe singled down the left field line, Katelyn Soulliere singled down the right field line, Leila Sanchez singled, Enterprise Hornets committed an error, Bella Cox walked, and Swim scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
Pleasant Valley scored three runs in the top of the third on a home run to left field by Thurman on a full count.
Thurman homered to center field, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth for the Pleasant Valley.
Soulliere earned the win for Pleasant Valley. The hurler surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking none. Shelby Hopper took the loss for Enterprise Hornets. The starter went five innings, surrendering 13 runs (eight earned) on nine hits, striking out none and walking six.
Hopper led Enterprise Hornets with one hit in one at bat.
Thurman provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Pleasant Valley with six runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Cox paced Pleasant Valley with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. Pleasant Valley were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Breanna Soulliere had the most chances in the field with six.
