Palo Cedro, CA — Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets had trouble keeping up with Foothill in a 17-5 loss on Friday at 9733 Deschutes Rd. A walk by Alyssa Moore put Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets on the board in the top of the first. Foothill took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Sophie Phillips singled down the right field line, and Foothill scored on a wild pitch, each scoring one run. Foothill scored eight runs on four hits in the bottom of the second inning. A passed ball scored one run, Hannah Gill singled, scoring one run, Sophia Axtell drew a walk, scoring one run, Phillips singled, scoring one run, Taylor Bellinger tripled, scoring three runs, and Isabella Bullington singled, scoring one run. A single by Axtell extended the Foothill lead to 11-1 in the bottom of the third inning. Foothill scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. An error scored one run, Makayla Berens grounded out, scoring one run, Axtell singled, scoring one run, Phillips doubled, scoring two runs, and Peyton Vallarreal singled, scoring one run. Savannah Songer earned the win for Foothill. The pitcher allowed zero hits and one run (zero earned) over two innings, striking out three and walking three. Mia Luna took the loss for Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets. The starter went four innings, surrendering 17 runs (seven earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking four. Luna, Lily Reynoso, Eva Nair, and Ariana Martinez each collected one hit for Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets. Luna, Nair, and Anella Etter each drove in one run for Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets. Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game.
