Redding, CA — Enterprise Hornets had trouble keeping up with Chico in a 13-0 loss on Friday. Chico got on the board in the top of the first inning after Olivia Murphy singled to center field, and Emily Babler hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Chico scored six runs on five hits in the top of the third inning. Murphy singled, scoring two runs, Babler singled, scoring one run, Sophia Babler doubled, scoring one run, and Liani Linares singled, scoring two runs. Babler earned the win for Chico. The reliever gave up zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Shelby Hopper took the loss for Enterprise Hornets. The starter went five innings, giving up 13 runs (12 earned) on 13 hits, striking out two and walking four. Enterprise Hornets turned one double play in the game. Chico amassed 13 hits in the game. Murphy provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Chico with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 3-for-4 on the day. Babler and Leah Cawthon each collected multiple hits for Chico. Addi Hosier and Cawthon each stole multiple bases for Chico. Chico stole five bases in the game. Chico turned one double play in the game. Chico were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Gioella Pennisi had the most chances in the field with six.
