Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets With Tough Game Against Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves

Redding, CA — Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets had trouble keeping up with Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves in a 21-3 loss on Tuesday.
Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets got on the board in the top of the first inning after Komal Mehmi singled down the left field line, and Mia Luna walked, each scoring one run.
Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Kaydin Turpen that drove in two.
Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves scored eight runs on two hits in the bottom of the second inning. #32 drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Turpen was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Peyton Kirby drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, a passed ball scored one run, #22 drew a walk, scoring one run, and #24 drew a walk, scoring one run.
Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves scored five runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. #11 doubled, scoring three runs, #14 doubled, scoring one run, and #32 singled, scoring one run.
#24 earned the win for Shasta Junior Varsity Wolves. The starter gave up six hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking six. Luna took the loss for Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets. The starting pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, giving up seven runs (one earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking five.
Anella Etter led Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets with two hits in three at bats. Luna and Alyssa Moore each drove in one run for Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets. JoJo Self paced Enterprise Junior Varsity Hornets with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. McKenzi Harnden stole two bases.
