Zion, IL — Jack Marabella drove in four runs on one hit to lead Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees past Round Lake Varsity Panthers 13-0 on Tuesday at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126. In the second inning, Marabella doubled, scoring three runs. Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees scored nine runs in the second inning on the way to victory. an error scored one run, Dominic Diliberti drew a walk, scoring one run, Ross Ames drew a walk, scoring one run, Marabella doubled, scoring three runs, Ivan Jones tripled, scoring one run, Ryan Dunne drew a walk, scoring one run, and Dominik Leith drew a walk, scoring one run. Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees opened the scoring in the first after Ames grounded out, scoring one run. Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI ground outs by Marabella and Aaden Grider. Andrew Mitchell earned the win for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees. The pitcher allowed three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. Amaral took the loss for Round Lake Varsity Panthers. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out three and walking seven. Diliberti, Jones, and Marabella each collected one hit for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees. Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees had patience at the plate, piling up 12 walks for the game.
