Antioch, IL — The Zee-Bees fell to Antioch 1-0 on Thursday at Antioch Community High School on the final play of the game. The game was tied at zero in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.
Andrew Mitchell took the loss for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees. The righty went one and one-third innings, allowing one run (zero earned) on zero hits, striking out two and walking none. Michael Gonzalez led things off on the hill for Zion-Benton. The pitcher surrendered three hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Trey Harmon and Jack Marabella each collected one hit for the Zee-Bees. Jaxon Zaugra turned one double play in the game stymieing a late rally.
Next up for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees is a game at Carthage College vs the Wilmot Varsity Panthers on Friday.
