The Zee-Bees could not keep up with Racine Case Varsity Eagles 7-3 on Thursday at Kenosha Kingfish Baseball Club.
Zion-Benton got on the board in the top of the third inning after AJ Neargarder singled to center field, and Brayden Duran walked, each scoring one run.
Michael Gonzalez took the loss for Zion-Benton. The right-handed pitcher went three and two-thirds innings, giving up six runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out five and walking two.
Neargarder and Trey Harmon each collected two hits for Zion-Benton. Neargarder and Dominic Diliberti were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Zee-Bees. Duran stole two bases. Zion-Benton stole four bases in the game.
Next up for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees is a game at Mundelein Varsity Mustangs on Friday.
