The Zee-Bees fell to Warren Township Blue Devils Varsity 6-1 on Wednesday at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126.
Javier Paulino-Ramirez took the loss for Zion-Benton. The starting pitcher went four and one-third innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking two.
Brayden Duran and Jack Marabella were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Zee-Bees while hitting back-to-back. Duran led Zion-Benton with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Dominic Diliberti and Andrew Mitchell led the team with two walks each.
The Zee-Bees will travel to Waukegan for their next game on Friday.
