Florence, SC — Armada had trouble keeping up with Latta Varsity Vikings in a 6-0 loss on Friday.
Latta Varsity Vikings jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after K Johnson doubled, scoring one run, and P Jackson singled, scoring two runs.
Latta Varsity Vikings added two runs in the second. Armada committed an error, making the score 5-0.
P Jackson earned the win for Latta Varsity Vikings. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out 11 and walking two. Stephanie Clark took the loss for Armada. The righty went one and one-third innings, allowing five runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out one and walking one.
Gianna Solinger went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Armada in hits.
K Johnson and M Berry were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Latta Varsity Vikings. K Johnson and P Jackson were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Latta Varsity Vikings. Latta Varsity Vikings were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. S Townsend had the most chances in the field with 11.
Armada will travel to Midland Valley for their next game on Friday.
