Florence, SC — Armada lost to Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs 8-6 on Friday. Armada opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Armada first got on the board when Alora Blackman singled, scoring two runs. Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Anslee Heath singled, scoring one run, Bailey Seabolt singled, scoring one run, and Baley Hans induced Macee McCollum to hit into a fielder's choice, but two runs scored. Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jordan Nelson tripled to center field, Bailey Seabolt walked, and Larue Hicks singled to center field, each scoring one run. Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs added one run in the third after Mallorie Smith singled to center field. Karley Bedenbaugh earned the win for Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs. The hurler surrendered two hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. Brooklynn Hrinkovich took the loss for Armada. The hurler went one-third of an inning, surrendering four runs on three hits, striking out none and walking two. Larue Hicks led things off in the circle for Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs. The southpaw surrendered five hits and six runs over three innings, striking out two and walking two. Lauren Wallace led Armada with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-1 on the day. Leadoff hitter Annabelle Senecal led Armada with two hits in three at bats. Addison Haltiwanger led Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs with two hits in three at bats from the leadoff position. Anslee Heath, Jordan Nelson, Bailey Seabolt, Mallorie Smith, Macee McCollum, and Larue Hicks each drove in one run for Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs. Midland Valley Varsity Mustangs didn't commit a single error in the field. Chesney Rosier had the most chances in the field with five.
