Bees come back falls short as they fall to Stevenson

Zion, IL — Both teams were strong on the bump on Tuesday, but Stevenson was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over the Zee-Bees. Michael Gonzalez started for Zion-Benton throwing a complete game.
Stevenson held an early lead but the Zee-Bees didn’t back down, scoring runs in the 6th and 7th innings. But the rally fell short when a strike out ended the game with the tying run on third.
Gonzalez took the loss for Zion-Benton. The starter went seven innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking three.
The Zee-Bees also turned a 5-6-3 double play in the game.
Next up for Zion-Benton is Senior night against Waukegan on Monday.
