Zion, IL — Andrew Mitchell struck out 10 batters as the starting pitcher led the Varsity Zee-Bees past Waukegan Varsity Bulldogs 10-0 on Monday at Zion-Benton Township High School District 126. Mitchell scattered a few hits and zero runs over five innings while walking one. The Zee-Bees won thanks in part to 10 runs in the fourth inning. Michael Gonzalez singled, scoring one run, Leo Maione induced Jack Marabella to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Elijah Hudson drew a walk, scoring one run, Dominik Leith doubled, scoring two runs, Brayden Duran singled, scoring two runs, Gonzalez singled, scoring one run, and Jaxon Zaugra singled, scoring two runs. Gonzalez, Zaugra, and Duran each collected two hits for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees. Leith, Gonzalez, and Duran each drove in two runs for Zion-Benton Varsity Zee-Bees.
