Easton, PA — The Easton High School Varsity Baseball Team returned home for the home opener and defeated the Konkrete Kids of Northampton 8-1.
The Red Rovers put up 4 runs in the bottom of the first inning capped off with a big 2 out triple by Max Martenis knocking in 2 runs.
Nolan Fuller walked to start the inning and Kurtis Crossman singled. Easton added a run by scoring on a caught stealing at second base when courtesy runner Max Suffness scurried home on the throw.
Easton added 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th when Mason Stout singled to open the inning and was moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Brogan Pagotto. Stout then scores on an infield error. Kham Singto who reached on the error scores on and RBI single by Cole Ordway. Ordway then reached second base on a passed ball and scored on an RBI single by Chase Shollenberger.
Northampton got on the scoreboard in the top of the 6th inning when Eric Castro singled with 1 out and was moved to score on an RBI single Austin Sommers making the score 8 -1.
Nolan Fuller dealt 6 complete innings limiting Northampton to 5 hits and 1 run striking out 7 and walking 1 picking up the win.
Chad Perry finished off the game striking out the side.
Cole Ordway had 2 hits and picked up and RBI.
The Rovers now 2-1 overall will take on the Stroudsburg Mountaineers at Easton Area High School on Wednesday
