Easton, PA — Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers fell 9-6 to Pocono Mountain East on Friday despite out-hitting them six to five.
Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Landaverde hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Crisci drew a walk, scoring one run.
Pocono Mountain East tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a ground out by Jonah James, and a walk by Lucas Rarick.
A sacrifice fly by Dom Gambino gave Pocono Mountain East the lead, 4-3, in the top of the seventh.
Pocono Mountain East committed an error, which helped Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers tie the game at four in the bottom of the seventh.
Pocono Mountain East flipped the game on its head in the top of the eighth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 9-4. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Andrew Martinez on an 0-2 count that drove in two.
Albert Nova started on the bump for Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers. The starter allowed one hit and three runs (one earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking five. Martenis took the loss for Easton Area Junior Varsity Rovers. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking five.
