Majam-Finch Drives 4 Runners Home In Fullerton Varsity Tribe Victory Over Marina Varsity Vikings

Bullhead City, AZ — Malaya Majam-Finch drove in four runs on two hits to lead Fullerton Varsity Tribe past Marina Varsity Vikings 5-4 on Saturday. Malaya Majam-Finch singled in the second scoring two, hit a sacrifice fly in the first scoring one, and singled in the sixth scoring one.
Despite falling down by five runs in the sixth inning, Marina Varsity Vikings tried to fight back. Marina Varsity Vikings closed the gap by scoring on a single and a single.
Fullerton Varsity Tribe opened the scoring in the first after Malaya Majam-Finch hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Fullerton Varsity Tribe extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Abby Lee and Malaya Majam-Finch.
Katelynn Mathews earned the win for Fullerton Varsity Tribe. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking three. Mia Valbuena led things off in the circle for Marina Varsity Vikings. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run over four and one-third innings, striking out nine and walking one.
Abby Lee, Malaya Majam-Finch, and Hayley Brock each collected two hits for Fullerton Varsity Tribe. Fullerton Varsity Tribe turned one double play in the game.
Mia Valbuena provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Marina Varsity Vikings with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Halle Piramo, Marina Varsity Vikings's number eight hitter, led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Marina Varsity Vikings didn't commit a single error in the field. Gabriella DiBenedetto had the most chances in the field with 10.
Fullerton Varsity Tribe will travel to La Mirada for their next game on Thursday.
