The game was tied at five in the bottom of the seventh when Angie Leonard doubled, scoring one run. Adams Varsity Highlanders fell despite leading 4-0 in the second. Adams Varsity Highlanders got on the board in the top of the first inning after Athens Varsity Redhawks dropped a third strike, and Alivia Cook singled to left field, each scoring one run. Adams Varsity Highlanders added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Athens Varsity Redhawks committed an error, and Elle Moody singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. A ground out by Mallory Colarossi extended the Adams Varsity Highlanders lead to 5-1 in the top of the third inning. Athens Varsity Redhawks tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a double by Addison Pokley, an error, an error, and an error. Leonard earned the win for Athens Varsity Redhawks.
