Rochester, MI — Stella Phillips A Difficult Out As Adams Varsity Highlanders Defeat North Farmington Varsity Raiders By GameChanger Media Stella Phillips collected three hits in four at bats, as Adams Varsity Highlanders defeated North Farmington Varsity Raiders 14-4 on Tuesday at Rochester Adams High School. Phillips doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning. Lilley Lutzka struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also gave up two hits and four runs over six innings while walking two. North Farmington Varsity Raiders got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kelly Williams scored after tagging up, and Ella McCue doubled, scoring two runs. Adams Varsity Highlanders took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third thanks to singles by Elle Moody, and Lutzka. North Farmington Varsity Raiders scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by Zoey Panter. Williams took the loss for North Farmington Varsity Raiders. The righty went five and one-third innings, surrendering 14 runs (12 earned) on 19 hits, striking out two and walking none. Adams Varsity Highlanders tallied 19 hits in the game. Olivia Viazanko, Phillips, and Alivia Cook each collected three hits for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Lutzka, Moody, Alexis Contreraz, and Tenley Boughner each collected multiple hits for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Lutzka, Viazanko, Moody, and Contreraz each stole multiple bases for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Adams Varsity Highlanders stole eight bases in the game. McCue and Panter were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for North Farmington Varsity Raiders while hitting back-to-back. McCue and Panter were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for North Farmington Varsity Raiders. North Farmington Varsity Raiders turned one double play in the game.
