Rochester, MI — Adams Varsity Highlanders Claim Victory Over Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks By GameChanger Media Adams Varsity Highlanders topped Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks 6-4 on Thursday at Rochester Adams High School. A double by Avery Howland put Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks on the board in the top of the second. Adams Varsity Highlanders took the lead in the bottom of the second. Olivia Viazanko singled, scoring two runs, to give Adams Varsity Highlanders the advantage, 2-1. Madison Gehart hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks tie the game at two in the top of the third. In the bottom of the fourth, Adams Varsity Highlanders broke up the tie when Stella Phillips laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run. Then a passed ball followed to extend the lead to 4-2. Lilley Lutzka earned the win for Adams Varsity Highlanders. The starting pitcher allowed six hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking four. Evie Chin took the loss for Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks. The starting pitcher went six innings, surrendering six runs (three earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking two. Viazanko and Phillips were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Mia Kahl, Viazanko, and Elle Moody each collected two hits for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Adams Varsity Highlanders turned one double play in the game. Anna Carlson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Bloomfield Hills Varsity Black Hawks with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-4 on the day.
