Skyview Varsity Hawk’s Late Push Leads To Voctory Over Lewiston Bengals

Skyview Varsity Hawks snatched the lead late in their 3-1 victory over Lewiston Varsity Bengals on Saturday. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the sixth when John Tyson singled, scoring two runs.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Skyview Varsity Hawks pitchers struck out eight, while Lewiston Varsity Bengals sat down two.
Skyview Varsity Hawks got on the board in the second inning after Keegan Sullivan hit into a double play, but one run scored.
Brighton Schumacher singled to center field, which helped Lewiston Varsity Bengals tie the game at one in the top of the sixth.
Tyler Russell earned the win for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The southpaw allowed zero hits and zero runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Jayden Estlund took the loss for Lewiston Varsity Bengals. The starting pitcher went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking two. Joe Bernal opened the game for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The starter surrendered two hits and one run over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking two.
Henry Downey and Tyson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Skyview Varsity Hawks while hitting back-to-back. Tyson drove the middle of the lineup, leading Skyview Varsity Hawks with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Skyview Varsity Hawks were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Trevan Plew made the most plays with eight.
Schumacher led Lewiston Varsity Bengals with one run batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Schumacher and Ty Collins each collected one hit for Lewiston Varsity Bengals. Lewiston Varsity Bengals turned three double plays in the game. Lewiston Varsity Bengals didn't commit a single error in the field. Guy Krasselt had the most chances in the field with six.
Skyview Varsity Hawks will travel to Emmett for their next game on Tuesday.
