Nampa, ID — By GameChanger Media Trevan Plew collected three hits in three at bats, as Skyview Varsity Hawks defeated Caldwell Varsity COUGARS 15-5 on Thursday. Plew tripled in the second inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Caldwell Varsity COUGARS were the first to get on the board in the first when Eric Kammerman hit a solo home run to left field. John Tyson hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Skyview Varsity Hawks tie the game at one in the bottom of the first. Skyview Varsity Hawks flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a triple by Henry Downey that drove in two. A single by Plew, a single by Tyler Russell, and a walk by Downey helped Skyview Varsity Hawks extend their early lead in the third. Ledger Downs earned the win for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The starter allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out four and walking none. Julian Flores started on the mound for Caldwell Varsity COUGARS. The starter gave up four hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out one and walking five. Parker Kons appeared in relief for Skyview Varsity Hawks. Skyview Varsity Hawks collected nine hits in the game. Downey led Skyview Varsity Hawks with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 12 walks for the game. Plew stole two bases. Skyview Varsity Hawks ran wild on the base paths, accumulating six stolen bases for the game. Kammerman, Connor Fullerton, Raul Torres, Owen Moss, Kaden Rambow, and Cody Felton each collected one hit for Caldwell Varsity COUGARS. Fullerton led Caldwell Varsity COUGARS with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-3 on the day. Caldwell Varsity COUGARS didn't commit a single error in the field. Moss had the most chances in the field with four.
