Montclair, NJ — The Knights traveled to Montclair and delivered a gritty, all-around performance to secure a hard-fought 10-6 victory on the road. The Knights came out firing, led by a dominant offensive showing from Anthony Drago, who tallied five goals and one assist. Michael Corbo added firepower of his own with three goals and one assist, while Michael Lozito and Joe Burzinski each found the back of the net to round out the scoring. Luca Tartara also contributed with a key assist. West Essex built a 7-3 lead heading into halftime. However, Montclair responded with urgency in the third quarter, scoring three unanswered goals to pull within one and swing the momentum. But the Knights’ defense responded in a major way. Anchored by Matt Capra, Frank Iavarone, Jack Kostick, and Will Kassebart, West Essex slammed the door in the fourth quarter, holding Montclair scoreless over the final 12 minutes. Behind them, goalie Teddy Skopak stood tall in net, racking up 17 saves in a standout performance that sealed the win. The Knights move to 2-3 with the win.
