Payson, AZ — Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Show Low Varsity Cougars fell to Joseph City 11-9 on Saturday. Joseph City collected 12 hits, while Show Low Varsity Cougars had 11.
Addisyn Clark drove in four runners in the loss. The number three hitter went 3-4 on the day.
Joseph City got on the board in the top of the first inning after A Neill singled down the left field line, A Neill walked, and G Jesmer singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Clark homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first for the Show Low Varsity Cougars.
Joseph City scored one run in the top of the second on a solo home run to left field by S Murdock.
Show Low Varsity Cougars tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a single by Tatum Townsend, and a sacrifice fly by Angelee Villa.
In the top of the fourth, Joseph City broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a single by A Neill followed to extend the lead to 6-4.

Joseph City flipped the game on its head in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 11-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Neill that drove in three.
L Sander earned the win for Joseph City. The starter gave up five hits and four runs over three innings, striking out one and walking four. Clark took the loss for Show Low Varsity Cougars. The hurler went six innings, allowing 10 runs (seven earned) on 12 hits, striking out nine and walking two.
Show Low Varsity Cougars accumulated 11 hits in the game. Townsend and Clark each collected three hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars. Rivera collected two hits for Show Low Varsity Cougars in four at bats. Clark stole three bases. Show Low Varsity Cougars worked the count all day, piling up five walks. Show Low Varsity Cougars ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game.
Joseph City collected 12 hits in the game. Neill drove the middle of the lineup, leading Joseph City with four runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Neill led Joseph City with four hits in four at bats. Murdock collected two hits for Joseph City in four at bats. Joseph City didn't commit a single error in the field. Murdock had the most chances in the field with six.
