Shelton Varsity Gaels jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Abby Montero singled, scoring one run, Avery Wheeler doubled, scoring two runs, and Jeanise Serrano doubled, scoring two runs. Shelton Varsity Gaels added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Sabrina Plyler tripled to center field, and Abby Montero singled to the right side of the infield, each scoring one run.
