Shelton Varsity Gaels jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Jeanise Serrano doubled, scoring two runs, Chayse DellaRocco singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run. Three more Shelton Varsity Gaels runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 7-1. Avery Wheeler homered to left field, scoring two runs, and Sammi Denihan singled, scoring one run. A play extended the Shelton Varsity Gaels lead to 8-1 in the top of the third inning. Sammi Denihan led things off in the circle for Shelton Varsity Gaels. The hurler gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine and walking one. A Caporale stepped in the circle first for Sacred Heart Academy. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs (five earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
