Shelton, CT — By GameChanger Media Shelton Varsity Softball took Thursday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 2-1 walk-off victory over Sheehan. The game was tied at one in the bottom of the seventh when Jeanise Serrano singled, scoring one run. Both teams were strong in the circle. Shelton Varsity Softball pitchers struck out 11, while Sheehan sat down nine. Shelton Varsity Softball opened the scoring in the third after Chayse DellaRocco singled, scoring one run. Cassesse singled to center field, which helped Sheehan tie the game at one in the top of the fifth. Sammi Denihan earned the win for Shelton Varsity Softball. The pitcher gave up six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking two. Nina Gross took the loss for Sheehan. The starter went six innings, surrendering two runs (one earned) on nine hits, striking out nine and walking three. Jeanise Serrano and Chayse DellaRocco were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Shelton Varsity Softball. Jeanise Serrano, Tori Silva, and Chayse DellaRocco each collected two hits for Shelton Varsity Softball. Shelton Varsity Softball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Jeanise Serrano made the most plays with 11. Cassesse, Voisine, DeAngelis, Stanley, Prentice, and Krystofolski each collected one hit for Sheehan. Cassesse led Sheehan with one run batted in.
