New Haven, CT — By GameChanger Media Blake Hall was dominant in the circle, as the starter rang up 11 strikeouts in Shelton Varsity Softball's 15-1 victory over Hillhouse on Monday. Blake Hall surrendered two hits and one run over five innings while walking none. Shelton Varsity Softball got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sammi Denihan tripled, scoring three runs, and Sammi Denihan scored after tagging up. Shelton Varsity Softball scored seven runs on two hits in the top of the second inning. Chayse DellaRocco drew a walk, scoring one run, Sadie Balocca was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ally Burrows was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, a steal of home scored two runs, Abby Montero tripled, scoring one run, and Tori Silva singled, scoring one run. Amilia Cabazuedo stepped in the circle first for Hillhouse. The starter gave up three hits and 11 runs over two innings, striking out two and walking five. Shelton Varsity Softball amassed 12 hits in the game. Sammi Denihan, Rylee Potts, Abby Montero, and Chayse DellaRocco each collected two hits for Shelton Varsity Softball. Sadie Balocca led Shelton Varsity Softball with three runs batted in. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Shelton Varsity Softball had patience at the plate, tallying eight walks for the game. Salina Clemente and Jeanise Serrano led the team with two free passes each. Ally Burrows stole three bases. Shelton Varsity Softball ran wild on the base paths, tallying 10 stolen bases for the game. Kaylyn Hinds and Kennedi Reid Bowers each collected one hit for Hillhouse. Hillhouse were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Elizabeth Padilla made the most plays with seven.
