Valley Center, KS — Hits Aplenty In Goddard Varsity Lions Victory Over Valley Center Varsity Hornets By GameChanger Media There were runs aplenty on Thursday at Valley Center, as Goddard Varsity Lions bested Valley Center Varsity Hornets 14-10. Goddard Varsity Lions collected 12 hits, while Valley Center Varsity Hornets had eight. Lincoln Jensen struck out 10 batters on the day. The starter also gave up three hits and two runs over five innings while walking five. Goddard Varsity Lions got on the board in the top of the first inning after Valley Center Varsity Hornets committed an error, Bryer Rojas doubled to center field, and Valley Center Varsity Hornets committed an error, each scoring one run. A double by Kane Dunlavy extended the Goddard Varsity Lions lead to 4-1 in the top of the third inning. Goddard Varsity Lions scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning.
