Stratford, CT — Today at Penders Field, Stratford hosted FCIAC power Darien & had tough luck losing 15-0. Junior Josh Tiberio took the start, had two very good innings, & threw the ball well both spotting his fastball & breaking off curves. The third inning proved to be tough as a lead off bunt single was followed by an IF error which then led to a hot line drive smash to CF that turned into a 3 run inside the park HR. Darien was off to the races after that & never looked back. Darien’s starting pitcher kept the Stratford bats off balanced & quiet. Stratford’s lone hit came in the 5th with two outs when Freshman OF Zach Spence smashed a hard line drive to LF. Stratford is off this Thursday & Friday but returns to action on Saturday at 12 Noon up at crosstown rival Bunnell in a non-league contest.
