Recap
Stratford, CT — A great pre-game, an even better just before first-pitch Senior Night ceremony for baseball seniors Ethan Hill and Jake Haddad and team manager Christian Ramirez, and cooperating weather with the lights going on all led to a great ballgame between league power Bethel & Stratford High. Stratford scored first right on the bottom of first when Cody Gallant with 2 outs & 2 strikes singled opposite field to RF driving in Ethan Hill from 2nd base. Ethan Hill got on base via a walk, stole 2nd as he’s been doing all season, & that set up Gallant’s big hit. Ethan Hill was lights out on the mound also, dominating Bethel’s attack with great stuff throughout. Stratford had chances in the later innings to build on the 1-0 lead but left the bases loaded & men on 1st & 2nd with getting a big timely hit. Bethel scored two in the top of the 6th, both runs being the result of 3 Stratford errors. Stratford on Saturday is busy, a Harding home game at 1:00, and an East Catholic home game at 7:30 which is the make-up game for the Penders Memorial Schooarship.
