Owosso, MI — It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Goodrich ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Owosso Trojans 4-3. The Martians haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them. Samantha Hiller spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. On the hitting side, Goodrich's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Swanson, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Julia Keller was another, going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Goodrich pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games.
