Mason Krahn drove in six runs on three hits to lead Skyview Varsity Hawks past Columbia Varsity Wildcats 20-4 on Tuesday. Krahn singled in the second scoring two, singled in the fourth scoring two, and singled in the fifth scoring two.
Columbia Varsity Wildcats got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Brody Springer doubled to left field, and Gabe Tanner hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Skyview Varsity Hawks flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Elijah Strong that drove in two.
Skyview Varsity Hawks scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Krahn singled, scoring two runs, John Tyson drew a walk, scoring one run, Henry Downey singled, scoring one run, Nixon Downs singled, scoring one run, and Strong singled, scoring one run.
Skyview Varsity Hawks scored nine runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Trevan Plew doubled, scoring three runs, Marcus Martinez singled, scoring one run, Strong drew a walk, scoring one run, Brodie Fleshman drew a walk, scoring one run, Krahn singled, scoring two runs, and Tyson doubled, scoring one run.
Martinez earned the win for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Parker Harrison took the loss for Columbia Varsity Wildcats. The pitcher went three and one-third innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking seven. Ledger Downs led things off on the hill for Skyview Varsity Hawks. The pitcher gave up one hit and four runs (two earned) over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Downey tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Skyview Varsity Hawks in relief. The pitcher gave up zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
