Rochester, MI — Adams Varsity Highlanders Lose To Regina Saddlelites

Adams Varsity Highlanders fell to Regina Saddlelites 9-4 on Tuesday.
An error put Adams Varsity Highlanders on the board in the bottom of the first.
Chloe Younes grounded out, which helped Regina Saddlelites tie the game at one in the top of the third.
In the bottom of the third, Adams Varsity Highlanders broke up the tie when Lilley Lutzka singled, scoring two runs. Then a ground out by Lilly Carpenter followed to extend the lead to 4-1.
Regina Saddlelites captured the lead, 5-4, in the top of the fifth when an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, and Younes singled, scoring one run.
Morgan Thimm earned the win for Regina Saddlelites. The pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Olivia Viazanko took the loss for Adams Varsity Highlanders. The starter went seven innings, surrendering nine runs (four earned) on nine hits, striking out seven and walking three. Veve Lewis led things off in the circle for Regina Saddlelites. The starter gave up three hits and four runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking four.
Lutzka, Elle Moody, Stella Phillips, Carpenter, and Tenley Boughner each collected one hit for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Carpenter went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Mia Kahl paced Adams Varsity Highlanders with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up five walks for the game. Lutzka and Phillips each stole multiple bases for Adams Varsity Highlanders. Adams Varsity Highlanders stole six bases in the game.
Grace Cooper, the number nine hitter for Regina Saddlelites, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Younes and Lewis each collected two hits for Regina Saddlelites.
Adams Varsity Highlanders play at home on Wednesday against Goodrich Varsity Martians in their next game.
