Muskegon, MI — Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) snatched the lead late in their 2-1 victory over Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets on Tuesday. The game was tied at one in the top of the sixth when a steal of home scored one run. The pitching was strong on both sides. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) pitchers struck out nine, while Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets sat down five. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) got on the board in the third inning after Ethan Sova singled, scoring one run. Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity) committed an error, which helped Reeths-Puffer Varsity Rockets tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth. Garrett Johnson earned the win for Caledonia Fighting Scots (Varsity). The pitcher surrendered three hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking three.
